Our Students

Today’s NSCC students hail from all over the world as well as from our region’s cities and towns. More than 50 languages are spoken on our campuses. Of the record-breaking 6,612 students who enrolled in credit courses for the fall semester, about 25 percent were classified as minority students. Approximately 62 percent of students are female.

Many area residents also take non-credit career and lifelong learning classes through our Corporate and Community Education Division headquartered at the Institute for Corporate Training and Technology at the Cummings Center in Beverly.

Our Technology

Long recognized as a leader in technology, NSCC receives a high level of support in the integration of technology into the teaching and learning process. A sampling of technology initiatives:

  • NSCC’s ESL Lab and Adaptive Computer Lab for students with disabilities serve as models for other public and private colleges.
  • Campus Pipeline, NSCC’s award-winning online campus portal, provides one username/one password access to a full complement of academic resources and services.
  • 90% of course registration takes place online
  • Students may self-recruit, apply for admission, and get schedules, transcripts, and grades all online
  • Personal Web space is available to all students and faculty
  • Online grade submission and schedules are available for all faculty
  • Every course at NSCC has an online course area with class email, discussion board, chat, link publishing, etc.
