How do I appeal a financial aid suspension?
If you fail to meet any one or more of the satisfactory academic standards, you are placed on probation. Students on probation still receive financial aid. However, if you fail to achieve any of the standards at the end of the probation, you are placed on financial aid suspension the following semester.
Student Financial Services will send you a letter notifying you of your financial aid suspension status.
All students who have been placed on financial aid suspension have the right to appeal by completing a Financial Aid Suspension Appeal Form.
When writing your appeal, please follow these instructions on the Appeal Form according to the reason of your suspension:
- Financial Aid Suspension:
Along with the Appeal Form, you must attach a written, detailed description of the reason(s) why you were unable to successfully complete the courses you have attempted and if possible, provide supporting documentation to support your claim. You must also explain in your statement what steps you are going to take to improve your academic progress in the future.
- Maximum Credit Suspension:
Along with the Appeal Form must attach a written, detailed description of the reason(s) why you have attempted so many credits without completing your program of study, as well as when you will be completing your current degree or certificate program.
All completed Financial Aid Suspension Appeal Forms must be submitted to:
